✈️ Fall 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium
Application Now Open! Submit your application by Monday, October 7, 10 AM
The Fall 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium is now open for applications! The event will take place on Friday, November 8 from 5PM - 7:30PM. This is a great opportunity to showcase your research achievements to the entire community.
All research projects done under the guidance of NYU faculty are welcome, including DURF projects, capstone projects, research projects from courses, Dean’s Service Scholars (DSS), and Study Away Programs.
You can choose to present either for award competition or for self-development. By participating, you will interact closely with faulty judges and explore your research interests and learning motivation! Contact shanghai.academicassociates@nyu.edu for any questions.

Mirna Bamieh’s exhibition Sour Things launches ICA’s Lightless Fires (2024–26) program, exploring fermentation as a method of collective memory and autonomous archiving. Reflecting on her displacement from Palestine, Bamieh uses fermentation as an analogy for preservation and transformation in liminal spaces and during crises.

Professor Andrew Hui, a Princeton PhD and Yale-NUS scholar, explores 17th-18th century China-Europe cultural exchanges in his book, Confucius the Stoic. His talk will analyze the Jesuit-built garden maze in Yuanming Yuan for the Qianlong Emperor, using it as a metaphor for China-Europe encounters in the 18th century.
